Namitha Mohandas

Namitha is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Early Life Epigenetics Group at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute, with interdisciplinary research interests in epigenetics, systems biology and twin research. Her research focuses on developing predictive epigenetic biomarkers for neurodevelopmental disorders, focussing on cerebral palsy, autism and epilepsy. Namitha holds a Masters degree in Bioinformatics and prior to starting her PhD, worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Melbourne. She has 6 first author publications and is a recipient of the NHMRC Dora Lush postgraduate scholarship. Namitha chairs the Twins Research Australia Early-Career Research Group and is passionate about science communication.
